This came to me while my partner at the time was practicing cello in the upstairs room. I was on the front porch of our little zen cabin outside of Asheville at the time. What the hell! I know there is a story yet to be told with this song and especially its melody. It's like Gordon Lightfoot's "Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" -- a melody came; later the lyrics presented... and then much later (according to the Lightfoot interview I watched), some old Irish blokes told him over a few Guiness (what else!) that the melody was an old Irish dirge. Who knew! Yet I feel certain with "Dying' Day Oh" that I'm channeling something through my DNA...
